Ethically, it is unclear how these different kinds of authors can be held accountable for texts generated by machines and what measures can be taken to hold them accountable. Determining the author also affects copyright of the text. Copyright infringement could occur if an AI-written text inadvertently or intentionally breaches regulations, and little information is known about who would be liable for this.

4. Challenges and Limitations of AI Writing

With the intention of lowering the barriers to AI programming and making it accessible to everyone, GPT-3 is a technology that raises new challenges regarding IP laws. Because it learns from the data on the web, it is known to generate text that unintentionally infringes third-party IP rights. To mitigate potential IP-related risks, one way to improve on the state-of-the-art models should be leveraging GPT-3 with a classifier that filters content based on user-specified criteria. There are law tech companies able to analyze, detect, and mitigate these risks, but they are less known and available than traditional open-source solutions. The encryption of data is one way to maintain privacy. This can complicate the exchange of information and can influence the accuracy of the results.

In the age of information, intellectual property (IP) isn’t only a form of protection and encouragement to innovate. Standards, open-source software, and peer reviews of academic papers are important, as they contribute to knowledge inheritance and democratize its access. Challenges such as plagiarism and IP theft have been tackled, and solutions have been implemented by tech companies.

The challenges and limitations of AI writing are significant. Intellectual property, privacy, and ethical concerns have been considered in standard AI models. The integration of AI writing in real-life environments and approaches for managing its challenges haven’t. This section addresses these aspects.

5. The Future of AI Writing

There have been quite the number of studies that examine AI by training neural networks on social media language, such that it duplicates human language to some extent.
