Incorporating personal anecdotes also promotes credibility. Don’t forget to incorporate evidence that can be quoted and the use of statistics. By emphasizing your research, work or other reasons for credibility, the audience will pay more attention. Using a good amount of cited sources and quotes will put into perspective that this speech was part of a larger, researched inquiry into the subject area. Additionally, citing other speakers, especially those with established authority, supports a person’s argument.
