The Importance of Implementing Research Proposal Papers

1. Introduction

It is becoming increasingly valued by business and public sector organisations to apply theoretical methods and techniques in practical settings. The reason for this is more often than not, a desire to identify the best possible solution to a problem or question and to make well-informed decisions. By completing a research task of some description, an individual or party involved is much more likely to identify the most effective course of action, which in turn will increase the probability of a successful and satisfactory outcome. For many, the idea of using research in a practical context is an unfamiliar and daunting concept. This can be attributed to the fact that the individual has no experience of doing a research task and/or they feel that the resources, learning, and time needed to plan and complete a research task outweigh the potential benefits to be gained. Despite the perceived barriers, turning a research idea into a practical reality is an achievable goal that can make a significant difference to the people and/or organizations involved and can be an enlightening and rewarding experience. A fundamental starting point to bringing research ideas to fruition is to develop and implement a research proposal. This paper will focus on the research proposal as an important element in planning and executing a successful research project. It will begin with the examination of a research proposal defined in its various guises and will then go on to discuss the different aspects of obtaining and using research designs and methods as an inherent part of a research proposal. An assessment of the value of research proposals with regards to the possible implications that they can have to both the researcher and the end user of a research project will then be made and finally the paper will attempt to give practical advice on how to produce a successful research proposal.

2. Background and Significance

This portion of the proposal is significant as it communicates the researcher’s acquaintance with the subject and the understanding of the research on the topic. It gives a deliberated upshot of what the research aims to accomplish and what the anticipated outcomes are. The causes why the research concerns the researcher, i.e. its own importance and the relevance to the present knowledge, etc., are also obviously stated. This helps in scrutinizing the level of confidence the researcher has in the topic and how sincerely does he pursue to probe into it.

Background and significance can be taken up as an essential introductory section on the research proposal. It sets the frame for the research and positions the proposal in the occasion of what is already recognized in the subject area. It provides the whole thing aims and intends for the study. It also furnishes the field of reference for the particular research. In a word, it can be taken that this division, the heart of the research proposal, is noticeably an expanded version of the idea of the research being put forward.

3. Research Objectives and Questions

Research questions should be clear and of interest for the target community or a section of practitioners working in the relevant clinical field. A multi-dimensional intervention can have several research questions to determine the effectiveness on separate patient/client groups or involving health professionals. It may require a series of linked studies to answer these questions. Hence, it will need to be modified and more research questions added as the project moves on.

Research questions should be feasible when the study is completed using the findings to reach a conclusion answering the initial questions. They should be credible using evidence, tests, and theoretical frameworks to attempt to provide an answer to the research question. This will give the conclusions more meaning. Specific research questions might arise from the objectives, which might provide the researcher a way to check that he/she is going in the right direction to meet the objectives.

Research questions are part of the objective followed by the purpose of the research study. It may be called the center of the research problem. The objective is something that the researcher wants to achieve in his research project. Usually, the objective is a very broad explanation of what the researcher wishes to achieve in the research. An objective can be defined as a statement that provides the learner with a direction to prepare an assessment or a set of assessment tasks, telling him exactly what he should do. A research question is a highly focused question that addresses one concept or component of the clinical problem and is used to guide the development of an evidence-based search strategy.

4. Methodology and Data Collection

Since the research concerned on consumers perception, the respondents in this research are Indonesian people who had never experienced the brand. The reason why we choose Indonesian people is because we think that they still have misconceptions about the brand. They thought that Toyota is the best automotive brand. This misconception severely limits our domestic industry, and can be detrimental to the national economy. We believe that a better informed public will be less likely to undervalue or ignore domestic products. By researching respondents that have never owned a Toyota brand, we can compare the results with those who have the latest generation of another brand, Honda. And for the other respondents who have never owned a Toyota or just had little experience, we offer the ride tester. Since Toyota has been said to be the best automotive in Indonesia, often times the businessman who has a car to show his status choose Toyota as his company car. We want to offer these people experiences on Toyota products that they already bought. By comparing the features offered by their old car and the latest generation product, we can give them a better understanding about Toyota products. And lastly, people who have never experienced Toyota, most of them have the perception that Toyota brand is out of reach. They thought that Toyota products are highly expensive, and only for the higher society. Because of that, they feel that Toyota is not their brand and choose another brand that has the same or even lower price than Toyota products. We believe that by giving them the latest information about Toyota products compared with the other brand, they will change their mind.

4.1 Data Sources

When collecting the data, various forms of consumer therapy, interviews, focused groups, opinion polls and questionnaires, observations, experiments, etc. can be applied. Each method has its strengths and weaknesses. In this research, the data is primary and latest data that obtain from respondents in several well-known automotive forums. Step by step how we apply each process can be seen below:

5. Expected Results and Conclusion

If it is not possible to determine any specific changes which increase their levels of success, then it shall be assumed that the implemented levels of inclusiveness are enough for said children. Any evidence found that children with similar backgrounds require the same adjustments in education mentioned above will serve to benefit all these groups in the long run. If it can be determined that specific groups of First Nations children require different plans in their education, then it is possible that it can be set forth that separate categories for disabilities may be necessary in order to prevent over generalizations. This will be the final conclusion and possibility coming from this research, and it will depend on which one of the above stated points holds stronger evidence.

The results of this research will give us an idea as to whether or not we should be more specific in engaging with the First Nations children, and whether or not they should be separated out into their specific categories in relation to their forms of disabilities. If it is found that engaging with these children is the same as it is for children without said disabilities, then it would be safe to assume that they need not any sort of special treatment, and would better off to be integrated with rest of the children. This again would be determined by how well the children are succeeding with the current levels of inclusiveness, and if it is found to not be as successful, the next step would be to determine what kind of environments these children would be better off learning in. For example, if it is stated that ADHD is considered a mild form of a learning disability, then a child with ADHD would be better off being placed in a quiet, low stimulus environment, given the nature of how these children have a tough time focusing on specific tasks.
