As a result, there is a demand for a new source of learning and education, something that can actually promote learning in an efficient manner. The creation of the AI tutor/teacher is an innovative new method of teaching that has emerged as a result of research in the field of artificial intelligence. This project aims to explore the impact of AI tutors on homework. Artificial intelligence research has been ongoing for over two decades. There have been many successful attempts to create intelligent tutoring systems and AI tutors that have proven to be more effective than human tutors. Many claim that AI tutors are beneficial learning methods. For students, having an AI tutor is a one-on-one chance to actually learn the material taught in class. As the AI tutor is always available, students can do constructive learning anytime, an option not always available with human tutors. The fact that the student is actually learning and absorbing the material can be seen from the various responses. On the other hand, trying to cheat on an AI tutor is a redundant level of work since the tutor already knows if the answer provided is correct or incorrect. If a student makes a mistake, the AI tutor can provide feedback which helps the student understand their error and learn the correct method. This type of immediate error correction and feedback is an essential learning method and is something that students fail to receive from their teachers on homework and exams. AI tutors can also be easily customized to fit the needs of the student. This is an advantage over human tutors and homework, which have a fixed curriculum. However, adapting AI tutors to be the new method of learning will still require time to gather the support of parents and educators.

2. Benefits of AI in Homework Answers

One of the most frequent concerns I hear from other teachers is how they can build homework questions for their lessons/incorporate more technology into their lessons. AI also has the capability to create a tutor for the program, which escorts students through the steps of the problem and will be language localizable to assist ESL students. The flexibility of free response and computer input questions to assess student learning will provide immediate feedback to students and teachers. This program would allow students to do an assignment online, while giving the teacher the ease of assigning problems, and maintaining an evaluated record of student and class progress. The second concern is for the students’ education. Because of the availability of offline and online academic dishonesty, students are learning less and less. They then find themselves in a position where they need to know a term or perform a procedure, but they have not learned it and cannot easily find a means to discover that information now that the assignment is already turned in. If AI simply presents information that is less biased and more accurate, but does not present the method of how this information was found, then it teaches the student very little. A very important part of research includes learning where to look and how to determine the credibility of a source. Relying too much on AI to circumvent these very same problems can result in students using AI simply to do their assignments for them. Implications of this magnitude are vitally important. As the internet continues to allow students access to information across the globe, the necessity of quality information is at least as important as simply receiving any information. Although bias, inaccuracy, and a lack of credibility affect the internet today, it will be the discussion whether AI can remove these issues or exacerbate them that will eventually decide whether the technology is a positive or negative contribution to education.
