1. Introduction

The conversation we have Regarding the American government is always consistent and it has created several concerns.Referring to the reality of the American government which is known as the government of the people, by the people, for the people, it has certainly work and persist in our society. But the back of the fact that the faith of the society or even individual is not unchanging,it is a fact that it can be influenced. And if we are eager to see the fact that the change must be for the better future, it needs the very serious steps.Like all the presidents of America who are always working for the betterment and development for the society and American people. As a good citizen who is contributing something for the sake of the society and the American people, we have concern and expectation that the positive changes will keep going And how come we are looking for the positive future, it will need some evaluation for the previous work. Any leader, organizer, or individual who has responsibility over an area, group or society need to evaluate the performance. Usually they are referring to the result of the work or the output which is considered as the effect of the work to the society and its influence. And the recall or memory for an event or work could be considered to be history. The purpose of the history no t only recalls the good or the bad event, it could be as learning or reference to the similar event, avoid the possible mistake and even improving the result for the same event. This perspective lead to the requirement of the good history and it is a fact that a good history is the result of a good work. Now referring to the above conversation regarding the evaluation, it needs an evaluation over the change or the effect to the society. And keep going it will need the comparison between the condition of the change and it current result to the society. This method of examination is called research.

Allen Koh did his part by creating a program known today as the Merit-based Award. This program is only offered to minority students, and parents must exist below the average mean of income. Koh’s intentions were to simply give the children of minorities a chance to go to college and have a chance of a brighter future. His intentions became a reality with the development of the Gates Millennium Scholarship, the largest program offering receiving the funds.

Allen Koh, the longtime advocate for minority rights, saw the struggles of college students and soon realized the disadvantages they face when seeking financial assistance are the same minorities faced when seeking equal work pay, prohibition of slavery, voting, and education. Through a life of trials and tribulations, Koh knows that all the problems of today’s minority are a result of uneducated parents whose children need the best education available to have a better future.

A common belief of minority students is that they have an increased disadvantage when it comes to getting a scholarship. This belief is because of the lingering stereotype that there are no scholarships available for white students. This is not true. Micro-scholarships up to $6,800 million dollars are available for everyone.

There are a few organizations and individuals who believe that good grades are not always a deciding factor in a student’s future. Many students see dollar signs in their future, especially after realizing how expensive college tuition and books can be. After discovering the cost of college, many students and parents begin researching how they can obtain a scholarship.

Many students have excelled in their academic achievements. Some students are brilliant, while others can be successful if they put in the effort. High school students want to have the best grades possible to ensure that their future is successful. Students whose grades are lower than the aforementioned often believe that grades are irrelevant when it comes to college.

3. Demonstrating Leadership Skills

The instant I announced the captaincy, my first thoughts were ‘Eureka!’ (I’ve found it!). No other word could describe better my feelings. But what is this indescribable ‘it’? What does it mean to me? The obvious answers would be prestige, honour, and power. However, only those with the shallowest of minds would fail to see that the vast amount of work leadership entails. Work? Yes, I have and will be putting in work. But it is not the dry, hard work where one toils to finish a Health and Safety assignment due the next day. No, leadership involves giving, and I intend to offer my utmost to fulfill all requests made of me in the course of my duties as a leader. And why am I doing all this? It is to provide my members with an enjoyable and encouraging debating experience. This is something I would make certain they achieve, with my leadership being a guiding light during their darkest debates. People in leadership positions often make wonderful promises of change to their followers. The end result, however, is much talk and little action. My methods will be different. Whenever my members deemed change necessary, be it a more vigorous training schedule or efforts to boost their morale after a defeat, my response will always be “Let’s do it.” And it will be done. For throughout my past experiences in leadership, there is one thing I learned that is paramount above everything else. It is the gains in personal skills, feelings of fulfillment, and the wonderful experiences over laughter and camaraderie that matter most, and these can never be achieved without having a good time. A good leader is not one whose acts are mainly of self-interest. It is the person with the ability to make the lives of all who follow him that much more rich, with memories that will linger and a bond that will never perish. This is what leadership means to me, and at Burnside, my ‘Eureka!’ shall be the guiding light towards that ideal.

4. Showcasing Extracurricular Involvement

Showcasing extracurricular involvement and all of your interests in life is of utmost importance when writing a scholarship essay. It’s a way of showing the board your interests and what steps you have taken towards creating a career and a sense of self. Your activities tell a lot about you, and it’s important to take notice of this and perhaps even send the same essay with the relevant alterations to different awards competitions. For example, a community service-based scholarship can involve a detailed description of involvement with your Key Club, Interact, or other organizations geared towards service in your community. Do the same with other scholarships. Speaking of community service, a great way to spice up any scholarship essay is to describe in detail an event after which you felt fulfilled and deserving of a good thing through helping others, and how you’d like to continue this in the future. In my life, I have always been met with an interest towards medicine, and although I have no intent to become a doctor, I have taken many steps towards my career choice in ways that can earn me a scholarship. My current part-time job is at Papa John’s pizza in Woodstock; however, I have been there for well over a year and before becoming a driver, I worked under management. During this time, I was awarded with a National Occupational Competency Testing Institute certification, and while some would say that a manager promotion would create a more appealing effect on a scholarship essay, being a driver is more beneficial towards my future. This is because I am able to work during the day before deliveries, and I have a parental job. The transfer between schools delivers me to many communities I have never seen before and at times have fearfully entered. Delivering to these places often teaches me to put judgment aside, and on some occasions, I run into the opportunity to help others, which is great. I have taken Kung Fu for over a year and a half, and it has changed my life. It is a study of Shaolin Kung Fu combined with Buddhism, a very serene and peaceful style.

Because with all things said and done, and through any success or failure, knowing that you’ve done all that you could possibly do leaves little room for disappointment; only new success. And while the chance of further change or receiving the scholarship may not be certain, you can rest easy knowing that with anything they decide, the results will have brought you to a better place than before. It’s a rare occurrence for anything to change your life or circumstances for the better, this is a chance to accomplish just that – to cash in on your investment and redirect its earnings toward a brighter future. So should it prove successful or not, congratulate yourself; this was a victory in its own right. But while we’re on the topic of requirements, remember, a 2.0 isn’t that hard to get! Step out of your comfort zone. You might be surprised where it takes you. Now as for the future of young athletes in collegiate sport…well, only time will tell. But with a sound mind, a focused will, and the continued strive toward higher education, we can put any doubts to rest and ensure a better, and well-deserved fate for upcoming students from all walks of life. And so with that, let it be a future be painted with success stories that parallel or surpass the one preceding this endeavor. This was a time when a person went above and beyond to invest in their own future, and financial aid will no longer be something sought, but something well-earned. And while it may stretch far beyond the time of understanding for what this little essay meant in the beginning, the sentiment will still remain the same. And so, if nothing else, let it be a beacon of hope and a tale of success that the fruits of labor demonstrate true benefits of dedication and education. A learning experience for all.
