1. Example: The purpose of this study is to examine whether Health Educator intervention adds value to the current model of care for patients on Warfarin. The primary reason why this is important to a Health Educator is that Warfarin is a highly complicated medication to dose and patients require a lot of education on this topic. Currently, the standard model of care refers patients to a Specialist who manages Warfarin dosing for many patients. In the case of our study, the Specialist is a Doctor, hence, this is currently the best care our patients could receive. However, Part 2 of the example proposal shows that it is this same group of patients who are Warfarin clinic patients who are not having their Warfarin managed by the Specialist which is the target for Health Educator intervention.
