Below you will delve into some of the more advanced topics mentioned in AP Physics C: electricity and magnetism. These concepts build off of the basic principles already discussed in AP physics, though we will apply calculus to problems and introduce concepts such as vectors and vector calculations that are needed for the advanced ideas. Many of the ideas presented were built off the known work of previous physicists such as Michael Faraday, James Clerk Maxwell, C.A. Hausen, and Oliver Heaviside; however, they were not fully formed until the early 20th century. These advanced topics make it clear that not all questions have a concrete answer.

2. Key Concepts in AP Physics

Many very different problems can be solved with the strategies and methodologies discussed below, simply because the reasoning processes are the same. Sometimes it is helpful to have a method or a trick to solve a particular type of problem, but the logical reasoning will usually be similar to what we present here. Major approaches to solving problems are: scaling analysis (Stoyster method), general methods of logical analysis, and pictorial methods.
