Helping consumers deleverage at an earlier stage, essentially restructuring their mortgage or helping them refinance, will likely have a positive impact on their future credit trajectory. For example, it can improve consumers’ ability to meet their financial obligations, lower their bankruptcy vulnerability, and improve their credit score along with other related out-of-pocket costs.
