Analyzing the Impact of Literature on Society

1. Introduction

The world’s general purpose in literature is to entertain and possibly carry some learning of knowledge. Writing is a fulfillment of author of feelings; it is a plethora of ideas in linguistic spins. In general in modern daily basis literature represents all art forms. Art, in its broadest perspective, is where each individual might convey what interests and inspires in personalized fire. Literature and social sciences are mutual support direction of the earth’s life and consistently, despite their dissimilar definitions and procedures, mimic the human condition. Literature can be a variety of impressions from different authors, beliefs, traditions or nationwide history, holiness, ethics and traditions. Along with all of the above analysis, literature has been built to train people individually by reaping aspects. The literary work directly communicates with carriers and constantly reproduces the past. The characters and trials are genuine. A close literary training, beauty of own ideas based on reality.”

“What is literature? Literature is the mirror of society. Literature is any piece of writing that is considered to be of artistic value, that is highly representative of life and a study of it helps to shape a more moral society, supporting morality and religion as necessary basic values. This study of literature has become a part of the composition. Therefore English literature has a direct influence over societies of all times and in all places. It has to establish the human sense of justice and expose the humanity’s irrational conduct. Similarly the development of the societies is adopting the presented in literature. Literature is not only a mirror but also a unique and autonomous sculpture of reality.

2. Importance of Literature in Society

The social importance of literature is often underestimated and there are few people who believe that its creative importance is higher. This belief is based on the assumption that the former is only a mirror of life, and in turn, that life is nothing but a mirror of the truth. While it is true that history is the main source of the raw material of the literature of history and therefore literature created from it is more real and symbolic literature. It is an obsession of historical facts and events. This fact seems to be obvious, but it is serious and damaging for the true comprehension of the function of literature unless you take the relations and necessary distinctions between the political literature and the history due to its existence and its real function, one is likely to insist that we need such a thing today as “art literature.”

Literature and society are closely related structures. Books often reflect the times they were written in, but because of human stubbornness, they usually come to reflect the times we live in, as well. Literature plays an important and sometimes controversial role on society and communities within its surrounding environment. For generations, literature has been a medium to release our deepest thoughts and opinions. It has allowed those with the structure to withstand the pressures of society and the self to express themselves. Literature has played a role in shaping more than individual politics. Theories from different writers have brought many revolutions in different societies. Literature is a very diverse and rich form of human expression and culture. It has a unique ability and force that can formulate societies.

3. Influence of Literature on Culture

I am new to enjoying literature, so there are going to be many ways that it has shaped who we are and the world. A good artist must be a rebel. Life has had a long battle with the field of art. Art is a state of being in harmony with culture. What do you think art is? Art is a kind of mirror of truth and life. Each of these quotes seems to speak to Dostoevsky who points directly to art and literature. Dostoevsky was ahead of his time and each of these observations connects directly to each of the literary arts. The trajectory that Dostoevsky’s career took, spanned the telegraphic alphabet form, extremists, essays to report on memories of a poets’ past knowledge; to learn how literature holds up the universe on the basis of poet’s peace; to highlight the lifestyle that corresponds to the simple poetry artists and public idea artists; to bring out how poems are dear to poets; and how the national issue is for poets.

The reason we study literature is because it looks at life holistically. Literature studies life through the living language of the living word, which matters because it has practical outcomes. It develops sensitivity, which brings warmth to all aspects of life. In this section, I seek to demonstrate through several examples on how literature however a mirror, through analyzing societies and cultures. I will begin with the examples of how society is affected by the revolutions and passage of the individuals who work to achieve their goals. After that, I will provide an example of individuals and the movements who achieved all that they had wanted using a variety of literature forms. In each of these societies, the literary arts contribute towards shaping and changing. There are millions of ways that literature has influenced society, so I am only presenting a few examples to begin and will continue adding to this list in time.

4. Literature as a Tool for Social Change

Social Transformation through Literature and Writing. A suggestion was first put forward by Arnold Hauser, a Hungarian social historian, in the early 20th century. According to Hauser, this relationship between literature and social transformation arises at the level of social consciousness, and literature reflects social problems directly or metaphorically and embodies the thinking of all citizens in the works, thus influencing the subsequent actions of all citizens. In general, social reality often shapes the theme and tone of every literary work. Because their creation, configuration, and resonance with specific social values and thoughts focus on the same works that attain social awareness. At the individual level, the contemporary literature of China in the 1912s, which led tropophobia in some works, opium, orthomological self-destruction, and regional annihilation, illustrates the use of dystopia to eliminate autocracy. Generally, literary works can build civil awareness of social problems in various ways and inspire citizens’ collective actions, and the initiatives, appeals, and life behaviors embodied by literary works can create new resources, which can promote conversation in society, one factor leading to social transformation and renewal.

Literary works have a multipurpose function. Besides providing diversified reading for each person, intertextual dialogues and memories spark new forms of reading, and at the same time, writings maintain a similar ideology to the original. Also, literary works bear social change potential due to the tense relationships between literary works and writing and social transformation, originating conscious awareness of different individuals when confronting different literary works. Ann Heilmann suggests that transformative power with significant potential exists in literary works and literature. By confronting literary works, an individual can pause the steps of modern civilization, glimpse a satire, or cruel darkness background, and then change certain thinking patterns, revealing the truth using literature as a tool for social change.

5. Conclusion

In conclusion, literature is necessary for our society because it is powerful, inspiring and transformative. Literature is the vessel of the wisdom of the past and the present with an urge to define the possibilities of the future. To understand the journey of cultures, literature encompasses the full range of expression from confessional poetry with personal experiences to national histories. Multicultural literature bridges this common ground. It proves that human experiences are universal. The general body of the literature survey proves that multicultural books have an influence on children of all races in grasping an appreciation for and understanding other cultures. Interviewees in both focus group and individual settings emphasized the tremendous influence of the book “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man” and TV programs. These findings point to the fact that access to literature has transformative potential.

Literature and its impact deserve special attention, especially in underrepresented and underprivileged societies. Exploring a society’s unrepresented facets often bridges the gap between well-intentioned interventionist reform agendas and how people actually live. This study carefully examines the impact of literature and transformative effect in a part of the world where literature and its transformative capability are underrecognized. Future research could include proposals that offer creative alternative means: TV literary broadcasts and/or classroom innovation with respect to the link to multicultural literature.
