The consequences for cheating or copying homework may not seem severe at first, students feel they are getting their work done will less work and stress, however this is not a good thing. Cheating makes it so that a student does not need to learn valuable skills and information because he or she can just acquire them at a later time from someone else. In terms of direct consequences, copying homework can affect the student who is being copied from, as that student may now receive a poor grade due to your lack of original effort and understanding. But perhaps the most dangerous consideration is that if one is learning habits that avoid solving problems or coursework correctly, it can affect the quality of work in one’s later career. The more a student can bypass coursework with less effort, the less their work habits will become, and the effectiveness on that student’s overall understanding and competency in the work will be lost.
